The mission of StartUp HR is to provide Small Business owners with high quality, practical and usable Human Resources solutions to manage and energize their workforce to accomplish the company’s business goals.  This is done by educating the entrepreneur on HR best practices, developing Standard Operating  Procedures and providing tools for  administration.

Vauna Hernandez, PHR, SHRM-CP

Vauna Hernandez has 20 years of recruiting and HR experience. Her passion is providing HR solutions for her clients by helping them build their HR infrastructure through technology compliance and people. Vauna’s specialty is consulting with startup businesses, sole proprietorships and non-profit organizations. Ms. Hernandez has consulted with tech companies, dental offices, non-profit organizations and social enterprises in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. 


Vauna is a Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) as well as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Vauna is an active member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and in early 2017 Vauna was identified by SHRM as a subject matter expert on Situational Leadership. Vauna also serves on the SHRM Advocacy Team.
